An evening commemorating the 16 days of activism against gender violence

Thursday, November 4, 2010
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Hellenic Banquet Centre
1315 Prince of Wales Drive

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am honoured to be part of the planning committee for the Immigrant Women Services Ottawa Fundraising Gala to be held at the Hellenic Banquet Centre on November 4, 2010 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Immigrant Women Services Ottawa (IWSO) is a non-profit organization that is celebrating 22 years of empowering women and their families in the City of Ottawa and surrounding area.  IWSO’s mandate is to provide women with the supports and tools to achieve their full potential as members of Canadian society and participate in the elimination of all forms of abuse against women.

The success of this celebratory event will be dependent on acquiring sponsors from within the community.  The funds raised through this event will support programs for immigrant women and children of all ethnic backgrounds who have experienced or witnessed violence.

We would like to extend an invitation to artists to contribute their artwork to the live auction, and 50% of the profits will be shared with that office. We hope there will be sincere interest in this proposal.

This promises to be an exciting Gala that will include lively multicultural performances, a three-course meal, auctions, awards and more.  We are delighted to have Penny Collenette (http://www.PennyCollenette.ca) as Honorary Chair, and Angie Poirier, A Channel television personality will be our Master of Ceremony for the evening.

I am confident that artists who sponsor will be enriched by the experience, proud of their investment in making a difference in the lives of women and their children and encouraged by your involvement with this incredible organization.

Please take the time to visit the IWSO website to learn more about our successes. I can be reached at or at (613) 261-1588. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Aaron Deane
