World Diabetes Day, November 14, 2011

Nov 01 -

November 14, 2011 is World Diabetes Day and to mark this special day, Ottawa will host Eat 2 Defeat Diabetes, a fund raising gala dinner to benefit the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA).

Over 100,000 of our neighbours in Ottawa, 1 in 9, are diagnosed with diabetes.

The evening will be held at the Westin Ottawa, 11 Colonel By Drive, and will include special guest speaker World Champion Canadian Rower Chris Jarvis who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at a very young age.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards supporting diabetes research and Camp Banting of Eastern Ontario, a camp for children aged 8-15 with type 1 diabetes.

At camp, not only do the children enjoy a full range of outdoor activities, their experience is enhanced by education and training in successful diabetes management. The knowledge these children acquire at camp can play a vital role in the delay and prevention of serious diabetes related complications.

Here’s how you can help.

  • Join us on November 14 and buy your tickets today.
  • Forward this note to your contacts.

Visit us at www.eat2defeatdiabetes.ca for more information.

Thank you and see you soon.
